GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—October 19, 2026
Lone Star Park has announced a contingency plan for the upcoming Texas Classic Futurity trials that could see the qualifying races divided over two days, depending on the number of entries received.
Entries for both Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30, will be taken on Thursday, October 22, track officials announced.
The Texas Classic Futurity trials are currently scheduled for Friday, October 30, and officials anticipate that all trials can be conducted on that date. However, should entries exceed 150 horses, the trials will be divided between Thursday and Friday.
If 151 or more horses are entered, the trials will be split over the two days, with the overnight races also divided between Thursday and Friday.
If 150 or fewer horses are entered, all Texas Classic Futurity trials will be conducted on Friday, October 30, while the complete overnight racing program will be held on Thursday, October 29.
Track officials are advising horsemen to plan accordingly and be prepared for either schedule.
Additional information is available in the horsemen's information section of the Lone Star Park website.
