In this episode, StallioneSearch was on hand to capture footage and highlights from the running of the 2026 All American Derby (G1). Effortless Favorite turned in a career-best performance Sunday at The Downs at Albuquerque, defeating a talented group of 3-year-olds in the Grade 1, $1,079,992 All American Derby.

Sent to post at 24-1 after qualifying with the fourth-fastest time, Effortless Favorite broke sharply under jockey Francisco Ramirez Jr. and quickly established himself as the one to catch. The gelding maintained his advantage through the 440-yard contest, holding off Political Twist by three-quarters of a length and stopping the clock in :20.866.

The victory marked the first All American Derby win for Ramirez, who has been aboard Effortless Favorite for much of the gelding’s career.

Ramirez described the milestone victory as the fulfillment of a lifelong goal and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to compete on one of Quarter Horse racing’s biggest stages. He added that Effortless Favorite handled the starting gate well and delivered the kind of trip he had hoped for.

Effortless Favorite is owned by Tom Maher, Richard Tobin and Bill Maher and is trained by Jason Olmstead. Bred by Wallace Johnson, he was a $67,000 purchase from the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
