GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—October 23, 2026

A total of 144 two-year-old Quarter Horses have been entered in 15 trials for the Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity, scheduled for Friday, October 30, at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The trials will determine the field for the $1 million Texas Classic Futurity (G1), one of the nation's premier races for two-year-old Quarter Horses.

Texas Quarter Horse Association Executive Director and Director of Racing Scott Sherwood confirmed Friday that the final will carry a total purse of $1,000,000.

With 144 horses entered across 15 trials, the qualifying program will feature some of the region's top juvenile runners competing for a coveted starting position in the seven-figure championship.

The Texas Classic Futurity is traditionally one of the highlights of Lone Star Park's fall Quarter Horse meeting, attracting leading owners, breeders, trainers and jockeys from across the country.

The 15 trials will be contested on Friday, October 30, with the 10 fastest qualifiers advancing to the championship final, scheduled for Saturday, November 21, as part of Texas Classic Night at Lone Star Park.

The $1 million purse further establishes the Texas Classic Futurity among the richest events on the Quarter Horse racing calendar and provides a significant year-end opportunity for the nation's leading two-year-olds.

Complete trial fields, post positions, and morning-line information will be available through Lone Star Park's official racing program.
