Sheza Fearless Eagle Soars to Victory in the $55,745 Lucile Rowe Derby at Arapahoe Park

AURORA, CO—OCTOBER 12, 2025—Under overcast skies and a brisk 14 mph crosswind, Sheza Fearless Eagle delivered a commanding performance to capture the $55,745 Lucile Rowe Derby on Sunday at Arapahoe Park.

The three-year-old sorrel filly covered the 350-yard distance in 17.718 seconds, earning a 99 speed index and collecting the winner’s share of $33,447 for owner Jill Cook.

Trained by Fernando Manriquez and ridden by Mauro Rodriguez, Sheza Fearless Eagle broke sharply and quickly gained the advantage, drawing clear from her rivals to secure a decisive win on a fast track.

Bred in Colorado by Vaughn M. and Jill Cook, Sheza Fearless Eagle is a daughter of multiple stakes sire One Fabulous Eagle out of Ima Fearless Fire, by Tres Seis. A 2023 Heritage Place Yearling Sale repurchase at $16,000, she continued to showcase her potential with another powerful outing that solidified her status among the region’s top three-year-olds.

A winner of six of 13 starts Sheza Fearless Eagle boosted her bankroll to $245,058. She was also a finalist in the All American Oaks(G1) and Heritage Place Oaks(G2) this season.

Finishing second was the fastest qualifier  Paramounte Wagon Jr, a black gelding by Paramounte out of Jdbs Dream N Paint, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, bred and owned by Rivera Quarter Horse Racing Inc.

The Alexander Orozco trainee, ridden by Jose Olivo, ran a clean race and proved clearly second best, finishing two lengths behind the winner and earning $11,149 for his effort to improve his earnings to nearly $30,000.

Lota Hocks, a black gelding by Lota Pyc out of Dance Down Diva Vc, by Kiss My Hocks, closed late to take third for owner Salvador Nava Arjon and trainer Jose Arjon.

Bred in Colorado by Victor Cervantes and ridden by Adrian Morales, Lota Hocks broke inward at the start but maintained his drive to earn $5,575 in the show position. Second in the Invitational Handicap and third in the Cherry Creek Futurity last season he has banked $43,689 in 10 career starts.

In pari-mutuel wagering, Sheza Fearless Eagle returned $4.40 to win, $3.60 to place, and $5.20 to show. Paramounte Wagon Jr paid $3.60 and $3.60, while Lota Hocks returned $6.80 to show.

The order of finish was Sheza Fearless Eagle, Paramounte Wagon Jr, Lota Hocks, Chico Fabuloso, Lovin M Dashin M, Apolliticalbest Card, Storm Breaks, Dynastys Gold Eagle, Littlebetzy, and Don Pepe C.
