Ms Flaming Finish Remains Undefeated For 2024 With Three Stakes Wins

EVANSTON, WY–JULY 7, 2024–Ms Flaming Finish has been making the headlines for the last few months with three stakes wins and an undefeated race record for 2024. Just coming off victories in the Energy Downs 307 F&M Stakes in May and Bear River Stakes in June, she does it again on Sunday in the $23,000 Raysha's Run–Racing For A Cure Stakes at Wyoming Downs.

Cesar Moreno returns for the mount in the 350-yeard stakes aboard Ms Flaming Finish. The post-time favorite won by a nose in a photo finish over So Sixy It Hurts and clocked a 96 speed index in :17.477 seconds. The winning effort paid $3.60 on 4/5 odds.

Ms Flaming Finish has a record of 9-4-4 from 19 starts and the $13,800 paycheck from the Raysha's Run Stakes increased her earnings to $217,748. The daughter of Mr Jess Perry has six career stakes wins, including the Young Ford Wyoming Downs Derby, Sweetwater Downs Futurity, Crush The Curve Futurity and Arizona Downs Juvenile Challenge from previous years.

Ms Flaming Finish is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Flaming Chula, a full sister to two-time champion Higher Fire, who is the dam of All American Futurity [G1] winner Fly Baby Fly. George and Sandra Villalobos bred the $37,000 Los Alamitos Equine Sale graduate. Abelardo Gonzalez conditions the California-bred filly for owner Luis Gonzalez.

So Sixy It Hurts, ridden by Oscar Cervantes, showed late interest at the wire for second. The three-time winning daughter of FDD Dynasty has earned $30,725 for owner Bill Doenz, who purchased her for $50,000 in the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

Cavenaugh Quarter Horses LLC bred the three-year-old filly in Oklahoma out of Jess So Sixy by Mr Jess Perry. Josh Taylor trained So Sixy It Hurts.

Owner/trainer Lynn McNeely saddled jockey Nakia Teeter aboard third-place finisher Charm. The $10,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate was bred in Louisiana by Jumonville Farms out of Grace Filled Charm by Feature Mr Jess. The daughter of Hez Fast As Cash has two career wins with $46,146 in the bank, including the Gary Waite Maiden Stakes.
