Delta Downs hosted 10 non-wagering schooling races for fillies nominated to the Lassie Futurity(G2) or Old South Futurity on Thursday night.

VINTON, LA–APRIL 10, 2025–Lm Ms Apollitical, a daughter of champion sire Apollitical Blood, posted the fastest schooling race time at Delta Downs on Thursday from 10 non-wagering schooling races at a distance of 220 yards.

Trainer Luis Martinez tapped jockey Ubaldo Luna to ride the bay filly for owner-breeder Luis Rosales Martinez, Jr. in the final race (10) on Thursday night. She posted the fastest time of 12.28 from 49 2-year-old fillies who participated in the schooling races.

Lm Ms Apollitical is the first foal from the Jess Louisiana Blue mare Ur Louisiana Blue, a sister to Mardi Gras Derby winner Jess U R Blue. Her second dam is world champion Blues Girl Too by Corona Cartel.

Tk Eyema Struttin, owned and trained by Lanny Keith, clocked a 12.302 time after winning Race 7 for the second-fastest time of the evening. The daughter of Struttinthedayaway out of Eyema Special Opener by Mr Eye Opener.

Shae Cox saddled a $24,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, Im A Pretty Mess, placing second in Race 7 while posting the night's third-fastest clocking of 12.309 seconds. SLC Racing, LLC owns the daughter of second-crop sire Tarzanito from the One Famous Eagle mare Eagle Diva.

Her second dam is AQHA Dam of Distinction and two-time champion producer Jess Sass Me. This is the family of champion Jess Waling Thru, champion Sass Me Blue, G2 winner Sassalitical, G2 winner Speed Dynasty, etc.

Five Bar Cartel was the only sire on the card with two winners.

David Bustamante trained Sweet Tempting Babe in Race 1 and SL Something in Race 4. He was joined by Preston Jourdan, who also had two winners: Greaux Aspen Rose in Race 2 and Jess A Salty Girl in Race 8. They were the only two trainers to achieve multiple victories.
