Js Freightrain turned in a commanding wire-to-wire performance Saturday night at The Downs at Albuquerque, drawing clear by 1½ lengths to capture the $150,000 Cox Ranch Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) on AQHA Racing Challenge Championship Night.

The heavily favored 4-year-old daughter of world champion sire Freighttrain B covered the 400 yards in 19.192 seconds, earning a 99 speed index over a fast racing surface while facing a four-mph headwind.

Ridden by Ruben Castro, Js Freightrain broke sharply from post six, established a one-length advantage early, and extended her lead to 1½ lengths at the finish. She returned $3.00 to win as the odds-on favorite.

Trainer Samuel Mendoza enjoyed an outstanding evening, saddling both the winner and runner-up, Dynastys Girl, who finished three-quarters of a length ahead of third-place finisher Jolie Laide.

Owned by Marisol Alvarado, Js Freightrain collected $70,500 for Saturday's victory, increasing her career earnings to $368,343. The Oklahoma-bred filly has now won 10 of 19 career starts, with two seconds and two thirds.

Bred by Leonardo Alcala, the bay filly is out of As And Js, a daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess.

Saturday's Grade 1 triumph added another significant achievement to an already impressive stakes résumé. Js Freightrain entered the championship off a victory in the Will Rogers Downs Distaff Challenge Stakes (G3) and previously captured the Easy Date Stakes (G2), Rocky Heinzig Stakes, and Hobbs America Derby Invitational. She also finished second in the Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks.

Dynastys Girl, a 3-year-old daughter of five-time world champion sire FDD Dynasty, completed the Mendoza-trained exacta with a determined runner-up effort under jockey Bryan Candanosa.

Breaking from post seven, Dynastys Girl followed the winner throughout the 400-yard contest, holding second to earn $30,000 for owner Samuel Mendoza Sr.

Bred in Oklahoma by Regina Laymon, Dynastys Girl is out of Pretty Girl Kate, by Pretty Boy Perry.

The runner-up effort improved her career record to one win, four seconds, and two thirds from 10 starts, with earnings of $69,906. She previously finished second in the Lone Star Park Distaff Challenge Stakes (G3).

Jolie Laide, a 4-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Big Lew, rallied to finish third under jockey Jesus Rios Ayala, earning $15,000 for owner and breeder Doug Ruby.

Trained by James Kevin Goodnight, Jolie Laide broke from the outside post nine and improved her position during the race before securing third by a half-length over Flying Bandida.

The Oklahoma-bred filly is out of Two Wines, by Jesse James Jr.

Jolie Laide was offered at the 2023 Heritage Place Yearling Sale, where she was listed as a $22,000 RNA.

Saturday's third-place finish increased her career earnings to $208,063, with six wins, four seconds, and one third from 21 starts. Her previous accomplishments include a victory in the Horseshoe Indianapolis QHRAI Derby and a runner-up finish in the QHRAI SSA Derby. She was also a finalist in the Junos Request Stakes (G1).

Completing the official order of finish were Flying Bandida in fourth, followed by Moonys Lil Flicka, Eye the Cartel, Catchn Southern Rays, Ohana Spirit, and Foxy Cowgirl.
