WAYNE, OK—October 1, 2026

Two-time AQHA Racing Champion and Grade 1 stakes sire Uncle D SI 96 will return to Oklahoma for the 2027 breeding season, standing at Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC near Wayne.

The 2017 brown son of legendary sire Corona Cartel out of stakes winner Little Surfer SI 104, by First Down Dash, will stand for a 2027 fee of $5,000, which includes a $500 farm fee. Early breeding contracts booked prior to February 16, 2027, will be offered at $4,000.

Uncle D, owned by Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, entered stud in 2021 and has quickly established himself among the industry's young stallions. From three crops to race, he has sired 91 winners and seven stakes winners from 170 starters, with progeny earnings of more than $4.1 million through September 29.

His leading performer is Heavens Uncle SI 106, winner of the Grade 1 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity and Grade 2 Bob Moore Memorial Stakes. The gelding, out of Heavens Assured by Streak and Dash, has earned $508,399.

Other leading runners include Grade 3 Valley Junction Futurity winner Uncle Redheads SI 95, an earner of $271,395; Runninagainstdwind SI 106, winner of the QHRAI Derby with earnings of $149,021; Can D Girl SI 97, a $120,702 earner and winner of the Sandy Ridge Cherokee Stakes; and Curlie D SI 94, runner-up in the Northlands Futurity and an earner of $107,582.

Through October 1, Uncle D ranked third among 2026 third-year sires by money earned, with his runners credited with more than $1.4 million this season. His current 2-year-olds had earned more than $700,000.

Uncle D was one of the nation's premier juveniles during his own racing career. He won four of six starts at 2 and earned $682,965 during his championship season, capturing the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity and All American Juvenile Stakes while finishing second in the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity.

He was named both the AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old and Champion 2-Year-Old Colt. Uncle D retired with four wins, three seconds and two thirds from 10 career starts and earnings of $689,165.

His pedigree adds another major attraction to his stallion credentials.

Uncle D is by Corona Cartel SI 97, one of the breed's most influential sires. Corona Cartel has sired more than 200 stakes winners and 10 champions, including World Champion Blues Girl Too, champion Teller Cartel, champion Five Bar Cartel and two-time champion Kvn Corona.

Uncle D's female family is equally distinguished. His dam, Little Surfer SI 104, won the Hialeah Derby and Lone Star Distaff Challenge Stakes and has produced 21 winners from 36 starters.

Little Surfer is a daughter of celebrated broodmare Runaway Wave SI 105, an AQHA Broodmare of the Year and Dam of Distinction whose offspring include three-time champion Ocean Runaway SI 105, earner of $1,642,498, and World Champion Wave Carver SI 104, winner of more than $1 million.

The family also includes Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity winner Wave Her Down SI 95, Southern California Derby(G1) winner Trisk SI 102, and stakes producer Aquafina SI 99.

Uncle D's 2026 weanlings and foals born in 2027 will now be eligible for the Azul Flight of the new Fuego Stallion Incentive Program.
