ALEXANDRIA, LA—October 1, 2026
The Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association is seeking stallion breeding donations for its 2027 LQHBA Stallion Service Auction, an annual fundraiser benefiting scholarships for graduating Louisiana high school seniors.
The online auction is expected to open for bidding on December 4, 2026, and will close on Friday, January 22, 2027, at 6 p.m. CST. The auction will be conducted through www.lqhbstallionauction.com.
Net proceeds received from each donated breeding are awarded through scholarships to graduating Louisiana high school seniors to assist with expenses associated with beginning college. Since the scholarship program began in 2001, more than $1 million has been awarded.
Stallion owners and breeding farms interested in supporting the program can donate a 2027 breeding. LQHBA will auction the breeding along with applicable farm and chute fees. Minimum bids will include those fees, and the winning bidder will pay the total bid price. Boarding expenses associated with the care of the mare are not included in the auction bid.
Each donated stallion will be featured on the LQHBA online auction site with a photograph, pedigree information, and a link to the farm where the stallion stands. Stallions with pages on StallioneSearch.com will also be linked directly to their StallioneSearch stallion page, providing bidders access to additional information.
LQHBA is asking stallion owners and farms wishing to participate to complete the 2027 Stallion Service Auction for LQHBA Scholarships Stallion Breeding Donation form and return it to the association office by Friday, November 13, 2026. The donation form requests the stallion's 2027 breeding fee, minimum bid, applicable farm or chute fees, standing location and contact information. CLICK HERE to download the form.
The association also notes that if a donated stallion does not sell at the auction closing on January 22, the donor may authorize LQHBA to continue offering the breeding on the stallion auction website.
