Four mares among AQHA’s top 50 all-time leading dams of money earners have accomplished something that reaches beyond their own produce records: each has a daughter who also ranks among the top 50.
First Prize Dash and First Prize Fancy, Alice K White and Astica, Shez Jess Toxic and Shezgothelook, and Oh La Proud and Look Her Over collectively occupy eight positions on the November 7 standings. Their presence illustrates how an influential broodmare can establish a female family whose success continues through successive generations.
Remember Me Rose leads the overall standings with $7,282,676 in progeny earnings, followed by Crazy Down Corona at $4,833,466 and Runaway Wave at $4,350,865. But the four mother-daughter pairs provide another measure of lasting influence: producing a daughter capable of building an elite broodmare record of her own.
The standings credit each mare with earnings by her direct offspring. The achievements of grandsons, granddaughters and later descendants extend the family’s influence beyond those individual totals.
Remember Me Rose Sets the Standard
Remember Me Rose, a 2004 daughter of Corona Cartel, heads the list with 31 winners from 41 starters and 10 stakes winners. Her leading earner is Cyber Attack, whose $1,721,346 bankroll anchors a record that also includes millionaires Bomb Cyclone ($1,446,063) and Powerful Favorite ($1,226,875).
Her produce also includes Grade 1 winners Runforyourlife, Cyber Monday and Enforce. The depth of that record gives Remember Me Rose a lead of more than $2.4 million over the second-ranked mare.
Crazy Down Corona, a 2008 daughter of First Down Dash, holds second with five winners from 12 starters and two stakes winners. Empressum leads her offspring with $2,701,248 in earnings, accounting for more than half of her $4,833,466 total. Two-time champion Hes Judgeandjury, winner of the All American Futurity(G1) is her other stakes winner of $2,016,522.
Third-ranked Runaway Wave, a 1995 daughter of Runaway Winner, has produced 30 winners from 39 starters and eight stakes winners. Her leading earner, Ocean Runaway, earned $1,642,498, while World Champion Wave Carver added $1,005,946. Both sons of First Down Dash won the Champion of Champions (G1).
Runaway Wave’s record also includes Ed Burke Million Futurity (G1) winner Wave Her Down and Southern California Derby (G1) winner Trisk, underscoring the depth behind her place among the all-time leaders.
First Prize Dash and First Prize Fancy
First Prize Dash ranks No. 33 with $2,465,575 in progeny earnings, 28 winners from 35 starters and six stakes winners. Her daughter First Prize Fancy ranks No. 48 with $2,301,220, 31 winners from 40 starters and six stakes winners.
A 1988 daughter of Dash For Cash out of First Prize Rose, by Gallant Jet, First Prize Dash is a full sister to World Champion and legendary sire First Down Dash. She earned $77,465 on the track before becoming the 2006 Broodmare of the Year and an AQHA Dam of Distinction.
Her leading earner is First Prize Leesa ($488,270), winner of the Remington Park Futurity (G1). Other notable offspring include Heritage Place Futurity (G1) winners First Carolina ($415,047) and Fast First Prize ($244,929), Remington Park Futurity (G1) winner First Prize Robin ($295,147), and Blue Ribbon Futurity (G2) winner Heza Fast Dash ($136,123).
First Prize Fancy, a 2005 daughter of Mr Jess Perry, earned only $3,578 during her racing career. Her broodmare record has been considerably more influential.
She produced Pyc Fun N Fancy ($478,760), Im A Fancy Pyc ($454,765) and Stanley Cartel ($296,906), all by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Stanley Cartel won both the Vessels Maturity (G1) and Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship (G1). Her stakes-winning daughters include Weetonas Lafawn, First Fancy Prize and Fast N Fancy.
The next generation is already contributing. Fast N Fancy produced stakes winners Fast Draw ($156,688) and Beaux Tye ($80,938), while another daughter, Fancy First Prize, produced Canadian stakes winner First Famous Prize ($119,661).
First Prize Dash’s family also extends through Fast First Prize, whose daughters include world-record-setting West Texas Futurity (G1) winner Fast Prize Zoom and productive broodmares Fast Prize Doll and Fast Prize Corona. That branch adds further generations of stakes performers, such as champion Dark Nme and Grade 1 winner Apollitical Chad, beyond the mother-daughter pair appearing in the top 50.
Alice K White and Astica
Alice K White ranks No. 36 with $2,433,480 in progeny earnings, while her daughter Astica stands five places higher at No. 31 with $2,541,536.

Astica, a 2012 daughter of Jesse James Jr, followed her dam into the championship ranks, earning AQHA Champion Three-Year-Old Filly honors during a nine-win career worth $411,623.
As a broodmare, Astica has produced 17 winners from 18 starters and four stakes winners. Her leading earner is Bigg Picture ($525,827), winner of the Zia Park Championship (G1) and New Mexico Classic Championship (RG1).
Her produce also includes Los Alamitos Oaks (G1) winner Asscher ($489,674), Mountain Top Futurity and Derby winner Luxurie ($350,246), and Shue Fly Stakes winner Wente ($149,779).
The family continues through Astica’s daughter Fanncee ($207,078), dam of 2026 West Texas Juvenile Stakes winner Hendry. Another Alice K White daughter, Tres Of Alice, produced Donelli ($420,604), whose offspring include stakes winners Harken, Jarvis V and Hestan.
Shez Jess Toxic and Shezgothelook
Shez Jess Toxic ranks No. 26 with $2,782,741 in progeny earnings. Her daughter Shezgothelook ranks No. 30 with $2,561,339.
A 2009 daughter of Take Off Jess, Shez Jess Toxic earned $235,296 and won the AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2). Her produce record is headed by Danjer, the two-time World Champion who earned $2,499,432 while winning 22 of 35 starts.
She also produced Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap (G1) winner Toxic Relationship ($126,203). Her record includes eight winners from 12 starters and two stakes winners.
Shezgothelook, a 2017 daughter of FDD Dynasty, is a full sister to Danjer. She won three of six starts and earned $19,110 before producing winners from each of her first three starters.
Her leading runner, Hezgothelook Z, earned $2,358,400 while winning the Ruidoso, Rainbow and All American futurities, all Grade 1 events. The Favorite Cartel gelding carried the family’s success into another generation with his Triple Crown sweep.
Shezgothelook also produced Lookatme Z, an Apollitical Jess filly with $166,608 in earnings and a second-place finish in the All American Oaks (G1), and stakes-placed Relentless Looker Z ($36,331), by Hes Relentless.
Oh La Proud and Look Her Over
Oh La Proud ranks No. 49 with $2,293,010 in progeny earnings, while her daughter Look Her Over holds the highest position among the four daughters, ranking No. 13 with $3,278,836.
A 1986 daughter of Thoroughbred Shirley’s Champion out of Oh La Ree, by Jet Spice, Oh La Proud earned $52,873 and became an AQHA Dam of Distinction in 2006. She produced 19 winners from 29 starters and seven stakes winners.
Her offspring include champions Hawkish ($685,631), Hawkinson ($448,299) and Flame N Flash ($439,151). Those runners brought success in major California futurities, derbies and older-horse stakes.
Look Her Over, a 2004 daughter of Check Him Out, earned $170,549 while winning four races. Her broodmare record includes 22 winners from 24 starters and five stakes winners.
World Champion He Looks Hot leads her produce with $1,618,055, including victories in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1), Champion of Champions (G1), Vessels Maturity (G1) and Los Alamitos Invitational Championship (G1).
Look Her Over also produced Once Over ($356,266), Watch Out ($326,239), Take A Look ($179,968) and Could Be Hotter ($67,063). Take A Look carried the family forward as the dam of Mildred N. Vessels Memorial Handicap (G1) winner Reason To Fly MV ($246,211).
Oh La Proud’s influence also continues through another daughter, Katie Katella, dam of graded stakes winner Cattail Cove ($898,530).
Across these four families, daughters have built records that stand alongside—and in two cases exceed—the direct-progeny earnings of their accomplished dams. Their shared places in the top 50 document the value of female families capable of producing both outstanding racehorses and the broodmares that sustain their success.
