A Vision Takes Shape: SLC Racing Expands With A Breeding Division, and Juice Is Loose Arrives

ELGIN, TX—October 20, 2026
A new chapter is unfolding at SLC Racing, LLC, as owner Shae Cox’s vision to breed, raise, and develop racehorses takes another significant step forward. As breeding season approaches, the Elgin, Texas, operation is expanding its services by launching a stallion division and welcoming Grade 3 stakes winner Juice Is Loose SI 109 as the first addition to the SLC Stallion Roster.
The expansion adds another dimension to an operation that already offers race training, sales preparation, boarding, rehabilitation, and foaling services. For Cox, it reflects the continued growth of a business built on hands-on experience, long-standing relationships, and a commitment to the horses and clients in her care.
As a woman breeding and raising her own horses while training for herself and for outside owners, Cox is building a distinctive presence in the Quarter Horse industry. Adding stallions and expanding reproductive services brings her vision into sharper focus: a facility where clients can find support from breeding and foaling through sales preparation and into a racing career.
SLC Racing also welcomes Dr. Bia Casa, D.V.M., and her staff to provide reproductive services on the farm. These services include ultrasound examinations, embryo collection and transfer, shipment of cooled and frozen semen, insemination, transvaginal aspiration, and stallion semen evaluation. Experienced foaling technicians and around-the-clock care will support mares and foals throughout the foaling season.
“We are excited to welcome Juice Is Loose to SLC, along with Dr. Bia Casa, D.V.M., and her staff,” Cox said. “We believe this expansion is the right decision to bring a facility back to the Elgin area.”
Leading the new stallion division is Juice Is Loose, a son of One Famous Eagle, owned by Sergio Ortega. The bay stallion has officially arrived at SLC Racing, bringing a racing résumé that includes more than $197,000 in earnings, a speed index of 109, and stakes wins at several prominent Quarter Horse tracks.
Juice Is Loose captured the Grade 3 Two Rivers Stakes and the Skip Zimmerman Memorial Stakes. His record also includes runner-up finishes in the Grade 2 Boyd Morris Stakes, Grade 2 Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge, Grade 3 Canterbury Park Championship Challenge Stakes, and Will Rogers Downs Derby Challenge Stakes. He also finished third in the Grade 2 Eastex Stakes.
After entering stud in 2023, Juice Is Loose now begins his next chapter in Elgin as the foundation stallion for SLC’s growing roster. He is enrolled in the Black Gold Stallions and Rocky Mountain programs and will be available for Texas breeding. His advertised breeding fee is $2,000, including the farm fee.
The expansion also holds personal significance for Cox, whose plans have continued to evolve since she bought the property from the Carden family. She credits Dr. Graham, who owned the nearby Southwest Stallion Station, with encouraging her to pursue the operation she envisioned.
“Dr. Graham, who owned Southwest Stallion Station just down the road, played a major role in encouraging me to keep building the dream I have had,” Cox said. “Since I purchased the farm from the Carden family, its expansions have taken shape. It has been an honor to build a successful operation over the years. I have gained amazing clients who value hard work and integrity.”
Following a successful foaling season, Cox views the new breeding division as a natural progression for the farm and an opportunity to enhance its service to both established and new clients.
“Foaling season this past year was a success, and we look forward to caring for our new and returning clients,” she said.
Dr. Casa, who earned her veterinary degree in 2014, looks forward to expanding her reproductive veterinary practice at SLC Racing. Her arrival brings veterinary expertise to the next stage of the farm’s development.
With Juice Is Loose now on the grounds and reproductive services expanding, SLC Racing enters the upcoming breeding season with renewed momentum. For Cox, the milestone marks the culmination of years of work and ambition, ushering in a new chapter that creates more opportunities for breeders, owners, and the next generation of racehorses.
