OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—FEBRUARY 24, 2020—A $100,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale repurchase will head training races this week at Remington Park.

Eleven training races for 2-year-olds have been carded for Thursday. All races will be contested at 250 yards. First post is set for 11:00 a.m. (CST).

Trainer Eddie Willis will send out El Jefe The Boss, an Apollitical Jess brother to multiple graded winner Admiral Sting and stakes winner Pollitical Scorpion for owner/breeder Mike Vaughn in Race 6. The sorrel colt was repurchased for $100,000 at the 2019 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.

Out of the stakes winning Strawfly Special mare Sting Scorpion Sting, El Jefe The Boss will start from the outside post 8.

Sam Green's One Famous Birdie, a $95,000 repurchase at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale will start in Race 4 for trainer Guillermo Valdivia. The daughter of leading sire One Famous Eagle, from the stakes winning FDD Dynasty mare Ms Southern Dynasty, is a half-sister to Ruidoso Futurity(G1) winner Uptown Dynasty and Heritage Place Futurity winner Uptowne Babe. She races from post 7.

The 50-date live racing season will at Remington Park will get underway on March 6 at 6pm. The Opening Weekend also features trial racing for the historic Oklahoma Futurity on Saturday, March 7 at 4pm, and Sunday afternoon racing at 1:30pm on March 8.
