HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 18, 2016—Shez Freaky, a graded stakes finalist during the 2016 Louisiana Downs winter meet, is one of 47 two-year-olds entered in Friday’s 350-yard John Deere Texas Juvenile Challenge (G3) trials at Sam Houston Race Park.

A chestnut daughter of Tr Dasher, Shez Freaky is trained by Rolando Almanza for owner Mario Lozano-Cantu. The filly will be making her first start since March 23, when she finished fourth, two lengths behind winner Duponte, in the 300-yard, $268,000 Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity (G3).

Shez Freaky will be ridden by Esgar Ramirez from post 2 in the fourth of six trials.

Michael S. Amburn’s Jayronimo, a homebred Jess Zoomin colt trained by Brian Stroud, will be ridden by Luis Vivanco from post 7 in the sixth heat. Jayronimo made his debut with a wire-to-wire, 1 1/4-length win in a 330-yard, $7,600 maiden special weight dash at Sam Houston on April 8.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $35,000-added John Deere Texas Juvenile Challenge on May 14.
