BELCOURT, ND—JUNE 9, 2024—Chippewa Downs hosted the $5,900 Mixed Breed Open Stakes and the $5,750 Dash For Cash Open Stakes, both her non-back type races, on Sunday's race card.

Mixed Bree Open Stakes
Jeff Schindler owner-and-trainer West Warpath (TB) was a three-quarter length winner over Okie Princess (TB) in the $5,900 Mixed Breed Open Stakes Sunday.

Jockey Dakota Wood rode the 7-year-old Flashback gelding out of Ten K Cat by Tale Of The Cat to his fifth career win. The Kentucky Bred gelding finished the 550 yards in 29.200 seconds into a 15 mph crosswind. He earned $2,950 to boost his earnings total past $125,000.

Okie Princess (TB) picked up $1,475 for finishing second, and the Quarter Horse Whipperwilltripp earned $708 for the third.

Dash for Cash Open Stakes
Under jockey Nathan Haar, Special Dipper drew off to a one-length win over Dcr C Nor Doubtfire in the $5,760 Dash For Cash Open Stakes on Sunday. He clocked 12.088 seconds for 220 yards, a 92-speed index into a 15 mph crosswind.

The 4-year-old son of Six Figure Sixes races for owner Bill Geditz and is conditioned by Francisco Estrada. Bred in North Dakota by Michael Groce, from the Ima Ramblin On mare Denises Doll, Special Dipper earned $2,990 for the effort.

Dcr C Nor Doubtfire picked up 41,495 for second, and Winds Sweet Favorit earned $748 for third.
