Zoomn On Bye Steps Up With Track Record Win In Gopher State Derby

SHAKOPOEE, MN—JULY 7, 2020—Two races back Zoomn On By was running for an option claim at Remington Park. Today the son of Mezoomn rolled to a neck victory over Little Bit Of Hero in the $45,075 Gopher Sate Derby, setting a new track record for 400 yards at Canterbury Park. It was the first win in 25 Quarter Horse starts from the inside post-position this season at the Minnesota racetrack! Ridden by jockey Marcus Swiontek, Zoomn On Bye completed the 400 yards in :19.580 seconds to equal a 106 speed index. Send Me This Wagon set the previous track record of :19.583 on July 6, 2014.

Trainer Cory Rumsey conditions the Alberta-bred gelding for owner B. Thomas Pick. Bred by Shady Lane Stables, from the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa Chickin It Out, Zoom On Bye won the Alberta Bred Futurity(RG3) last season at Century Downs.

The derby winners' purse valued at $20,284 boosted Zoomn On Bye's earnings mark to $81,815.

Runner-up Little Bit of Hero earned $7,663 for owner-breeder Brenda Reiswig and trainer Jason Olmstead. Danny Velazquez rode the Oklahoma-bred son of multiple stakes sire Valiant Hero from the Jazzing Hi mare Hanna B Jazzin.

Fastest qualifier Tipsy Girl B stumbled at the start and dead-heated for third with Eye Am Queen. Each one earned $3,831.

Tipsy Girl B, a stakes winning daughter of leading second-crop sire Hes Relentless, races for owners Tom Maher and Paul Luedemann. Jason Olmstead saddled the Texas-bred filly who was ridden by Berkley Packer. Bred by Bielau Oaks from the FDD Dynasty mare Devil Wear Prada B, Tipsy Girl B has earned $44,374.

Eye Am Queen, a New Mexico-bred daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess, races for Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC. Cristian Esqueda had the riding call aboard the MJ Farms bred filly our of Eye For Corona, by Corona Cartel.

Completing the official order of finish were Jesta Wave, Divas First Moon, Oilfired Up, Sweet Wild Time, Aj Quick Chick and Takinthecartelscash.
