It Was All Benito Baca Sunday At Remington, Jockey Picks Up Four Wins For Four Different Trainers

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 22, 2020— It was Benito Baca Day at Remington Park on Sunday. It wasn’t a planned promotion, but he made it so as he won on four of the five horses that he rode to the wire.

Baca was unstoppable, bringing home winners in races two, four, five and eight. The only race he lost was the sixth and he still picked up a check as his horse ran fourth. His horses that got their noses in front at the wire were Celee Chico (7-1 odds), Beggars Bargain (2-1 betting favorite), The Foose Goose (14-1) and Dominating Knockout (4-1).

Baca quickly jumped up the ladder of the jockey standings from 12th to a tie for fourth with seven victories. Ricky Ramirez and Justine Klaiber also have won seven times this meet. They are all distantly in James Flores’ rearview mirror as the leading rider has made 19 trips to the winner’s circle this meet. Cody Smith, who won two races Sunday, moved into second place alone with nine wins. Agustin Silva is third with eight wins.

In the second race, Baca won with Celee Chico at 870 yards for trainer Jordan Baumann; in the fourth with Beggars Bargain at 330 yards for Bernard Baca; in the fifth with The Foose Goose at 330 yards for Bradley Mason, and in the eighth with Dominating Knockout at 250 yards for Eddie Lee Willis.
