FDD Going Grand Shatters Track Record in EVD Dash Stakes

OPELOUSAS, LA— NOVEMBER 8, 2014—Mercy Hinklin's Horse Farm, LLC's multiple stakes winner FDD Going Grand shattered the Evangeline Downs 220 yard track record with a dominating one-length victory over Rosouti in the $20,000 EVD Dash Stakes Saturday night. Scream N Eagle finished half-a-length back in the show position.

Ridden by jockey Jose Vega FDD Going Grand completed the course in :11.530 seconds to earn a 112 speed index. The previous record of :11.613 was set October 12, 2013 by One Swift Game.

Kenneth Roberts, Sr. saddled the Hinklin homebred son of leading sire FDD Dynasty out of Cash Cartel, by Corona Cartel. FDD Going Grand has won six of 16 career starts and the $12,000 winner's purse on Saturday night boosted his career total to $192,510.

Rosouti, an Agouti filly that has continued to step up this season, earned her first black-type finish for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. Martin Trejo conditions the Louisiana-bred filly out of Rose For Windy, by Heza Fast Dash. Ridden by David Alvarez the sorrel miss earned $4,000 for the effort.

Scream N Eagle, winner of the Pair-A-Dice Stakes last summer at Delta Downs, picked up $2,200 for third. Jesus Garrido trains the One Famous Eagle gelding for owner Triumph Stables, Inc. Grant Farms, LLC bred the stakes winner in Louisiana from the Chicks Beduino mare Linda Te Chick. Saul Ramirez, Jr. had the riding assignment.

Cristata, Laynes Corona On Ice, The Notradamus, The Lizzard King, Oak Tree Eye Opener and Braggin N Dashin completed the field. Imkeepingscore was scratched.
