Laurel Brown Racetrack canceled their final race card today (Monday) due to weather conditions in the South Jordan, Utah area.

SOUTH JORDAN, UT–MAY 30, 2022–After delaying the first post for a couple of hours today due to weather conditions in the South Jordan, Utah area, Laurel Brown Racetrack officials met with horsemen, trainers and jockeys made the decision their final race card of the 2022 season would have to be canceled for safety precautions.

“Unfortunately the track is unable to reschedule the card due to the opening of Wyoming Downs next week,” UQHRA Racing Secretary Savana Canales said late Monday 

Canales said purses for stakes races, non-black type finals and consolations, scheduled for the May 3oth race card, will now be divided evenly between the horses that were entered to run.  

Races on today’s Laurel Brown card included:

• $85,769 Beehive Futurity
• $50,769 South Valley / Wyoming Downs Futurity
• $40,160 Renegade Open Derby
• $40,097 Big G 89 and Under All Breed Allowance (not black type)
• $36,278 Lazy Duce Ranch Maturity
• $9,533 Beehive Consolation (not black type)
• $5,641 South Valley / Wyoming Downs Consolation (not black type)
