Los Alamitos Preview Show Is Available With A Look At The 1,000 Yard Final and Derby Trials

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—NOVEMBER 27, 2021—The points series at 1,000 yards culminates with $110,000 in purse money on the line on Saturday night with the $50,000 final and a pair of $30,000 undercard finals also on tap.

The $50,000 final brings together all of the top runners at this distance led by points leader Castle Gate, the win machine named Oh Jerry, track record holder Ballast Point, recent winner Capture The Sea plus six other runners.

Dan Wells, who claimed Capture The Sea for $6,250 and now starts him in the final, joins us on the show for his thoughts on this innovative new series while also giving us an update on his champion stallion Tell Cartel.

The weekend will also feature the trials to the $150,600 Southern California Derby on Sunday led by top sprinters like Monopolist, Counting The Ways, Favorite Colossus, Fallout and more.

Episode 18 of the Los Alamitos Preview Show also takes a look a back at the trials to the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity held last Sunday night. The webcast show also includes an interview with Chris O’Dell, who talks about his charge Bomb Cyclone and his amazing victory in which he posted the fastest qualifying time to the Two Million Futurity.

Contreras will be joined by Orlando Gutierrez, the track’s marketing and publicity director in “La Previa” of the Los Alamitos weekend action in Spanish with an interview with Jesus Rios Ayala just moments after he piloted Whizkey Glasses to a qualifying time to the Two Million final.
