AJAX, ONT—APRIL 7, 2020—Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ajax Downs has delayed its start to the 2020 Quarter Horse racing season which had been scheduled for Sunday, May 10.

Training sessions at Ajax Downs, which were set to begin Apr. 20, have also been postponed indefinitely.

Once a new start date to the racing season is announced, training sessions will be added a few weeks in advance to help horse people complete preparation of their horses for the meeting.

"During these unique circumstances, it is unclear at this point when we will actually be able to open our track once again," said Ajax Downs' General Manager Emilio Trotta. "We realize that this will take some time to get through but we continue to remain hopeful that we can get back to racing sooner rather than later so that we can get people back to their livelihood and some sense of normality."
