First-Crop Sire One Valiant Hero Gets First Stakes Winner

GUTHRIE, OK—JUNE 28, 2019—Multiple stakes winner and grade 1-placed One Valiant Hero SI 102 got his first stakes winner on Friday when fastest qualifier Centers Valiant Hero led gate-to-wire in the $80,127 Beehive Futurity at Laurel Brown Track in South Jordan, Utah.

Jockey Julian Serrano rode the gelding to his third consecutive win. The talented gelding completed the 350 yards in :17.867 seconds, equaling a 92 speed index into a 20 mph headwind.

Jorge Sanchez-Gonzalez conditions the $17,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate for owners Mayra Sanchez and Hernando Perez. Bred in Oklahoma by Carlie Rooney, from the Spit Curl Jess mare Centercurlincash, Centers Valiant Hero has compiled a (6) 4-0-1 record and used today's Beehive winner's purse of $32,050 to boost his career mark to $56,840.

From only 14 starters, the son of champion sire Valiant Hero, is the sire of seven winners, 1 stakes winner, 1 grade 1 finalist, earners in excess of $175,000 with average earnings per starter of over $12,000.
