WHITESBORO, TX—OCTOBER 22, 2016—AQHA Racing Champion and Champion sire Okey Dokey Dale SI 108 was laid to rest earlier this week after being diagnosed with a rare tumor on his kidneys. Humphrey Quarter Horses near Whitesboro, Texas owned the stallion.

"We can only hope his home in heaven replicates the life we tired to provide for him here," owner Ryan Humphrey said. "Dale was not only an amazing producer but he was everything the American Quarter Horse stands for."

He was bred in Arizona by Henry Brown and raced by Howard Moore.

A son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash, Okey Dokey Dale won or placed in 15 of 20 career starts earning $250,091. Named the AQHA Racing Champion 3-year-old of 1998, he won the Ruidoso Derby(G2) and was second in the All American Derby(G1), Texas Classic Derby and Dash For Cash Derby.

From 14 crops to race Okey Dokey Dale sired 429 winners, 56 stakes winners, 50 stakes-placed, earners of $13.8 million with average earnings per starter of over $19,000.

She is the am of 16 ROM, six stakes horses including champion Okey Dokey Dale SI 108 (see above), Rainbow Juvenile winner Buildemhigh SI 120 ($148,769), stakes-placed and G1 finalist Net Sum Gain SI 109 ($94,463), stakes-placed Chicks Okeydokey SI 109, stakes-placed Feature Movie SI 105 ($18,401) and Holly Pena SI 94 ($10,508).

Okey Dokey Dale was laid to rest on the highest hill on Humphrey's Quarter Horse Ranch near Whitesboro.
