First Stakes Winner For Big Daddy Cartel

VEGUITA, NM—MAY 15, 2016—Multiple G1 finalist and first-crop sire Big Daddy Cartel SI 94 got his first stakes winner on Sunday when A Super Sonic Boom won the $101,680 New Mexico Breeders' Futurity(RG3) at SunRay Park.

In a driving finish under, jockey Jaime Leos, A Super Sonic Boon defeated Frost Dalena by a neck to earn $61,008. Conditioned by trainer Kenneth Grisham, the Big Daddy Cartel colt completed the 350 yards in :17.555 seconds. A homebred for owner Hubaldo Solis, A Super Sonic Boom is out of the Strawflyin Buds mare Strawberrberryfast.


A Super Sonic Boom (#10) hits the wire ahead of Frost Dalena (#1) and My Moon Crest (#5) in the $101,680 New Mexico Breeders' Futurity(RG3) Sunday at SunRay Park.
