CLOVIS, CA—NOVEMBER 20, 2015—Vince Genco announced today that "frozen semen" will be available in 2016 to leading first crop sire Good Reason SA. The two-time AQHA Racing Champion Aged Horse died unexpectedly in 2012 following his first season at stud.
From a limited number of starters in his only crop to race Good Reason SA has sired 26 winners, 6 stakes horses with earnings in excess of $2 million and average earnings per starter of more than $37,700.
Owned by the Splenda, LLC, Good Reason SA won or placed in 9 of 15 career starts while earning $1,446,727. Named the AQHA Racing Champion Aged Stallion and Champion Aged of 2011 the son of Thoroughbred Horse of the Year Favorite Trick (TB) won the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1), Champion of Champions(G1), Golden State Derby(G1)and Los Alamitos Winter Championship(G2). He was second in the Z Wayne Griffin Directors Takes-Div 2 and a finalist in the Vessels Maturity(G1), Robert L. Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship(G1) and Go Man Go Handicap(G1).
Frozen Semen manager Genco said Good Reason SA's will be offered to breeders as follows:
Frozen Semen ($12,500)
- $5,000 (non-refundable) booking fee includes 1 breeding dose of 8 frozen semen straws.
- $7,500 (no-live foal guarantee) additional when mare is checked 90 days in-foal and breeder's certificate is issued. Embryo insurance is recommended to breeder and is available after 90 days in-foal.

ICSI Process ($5,000)
If mare owner chooses to use ICSI process at an approved facility there will be a non-refundable booking fee deposit of $2,500 for semen and $2,500 charge for a breeder’s certificate once mare is 90 days pregnant (no live foal guarantee – embryo insurance is available at 90 days and is recommended). Reduced fee is to offset the cost of ICSI procedure, which is the responsibility of the mare owners.
