Grade 1 Winner One Sweet Jess Gets First Stakes Winner

MENIFEE, CA—AUGUST 9, 2015—Golden State Million Futurity(G1) winner and first crop sire One Sweet Jess got his first stakes winner yesterday when Fames Jess Sweet won the $31,136 Idaho Cup Futurity at Les Bois Park.

Nikeela Black rode Fames Jess Sweet to her first career stakes win with an impressive one-length winning effort off the outside rail over Rtm Moonshine in the $31,136 Idaho Cup Futurity on Friday night. The daughter of first crop sire One Sweet Jess clocked a :17.767 time for the 350 yards to earn an 89 speed index into a five mph headwind.

Monty Arrossa saddled the sorrel filly for owner/breeders Gary and Jeralyn Messenger. It was the second win in six starts this season for the Idaho-bred filly from the Floyd de Great mare Go For Fame. Placed in the Bitterroot Juvenile Invitational earlier this year the $12,455 Idaho Cup Futurity winner's purse boosted the filly's earnings to $16,700.

From a limited number of starters in his first crop to race, One Sweet Jess has sired 13 winners, 1 stakes winner and 1 stakes placed with earnings in excess of $200,000.

An earner of $81,937, One Sweet Dash is the dam of 8 ROM, three stakes winners including AQHA Racing World Champion and All American Futurity(G1) winner One Dashing Eagle SI 98 ($2,079,065 at 2), track record setter Hes A Standout ($45,402), etc. She is also the graddam of G3-placed Tres Fast Again.
