First Down King to Return to West Coast for 2016 Breeding Season

HEMET, CA—JULY 25, 2015—First Down King SI 97, a stakes winner and major G1 contender while racing in California, will return to the West Coast for the 2016 breeding season. The son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash will stand the 2016 season at Firth Ranch near Hemet, California. His fee has been set at $1,500.

Owned by Dunn Ranch, Ltd., First Down King won or placed in 13 of 22 career starts, earning $140,008. He won the Los Alamitos Two Million Juvenile Invitational was second in the California Breeders' Freshman Stakes and third in the Governor's Cup Derby(G2). He was a finalist in the Los Alamitos Super Derby(G1), Golden State Derby(G1), Spencer L. Childers California Breeders' Championship(G1), Los Alamitos Winter Championship(G1) and Kaweah Bar Handicap.

First Down King is out of the G3-placed Mr Jess Perry mare Queen Of Torts SI 108 ($59,663), 2nd in the All American Juvenile(G3). She is the dam of five ROM (all winners), three stakes horses including 2014 Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity winner Torts On Fire SI 91 ($375,779), stakes-placed Winter Is Coming SI 91 ($54,322), Dont Doubt The King SI 91 ($39,176), etc. The second dam is the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity and Derby finalist Fast And Strate SI 97 ($44,133).
