PHOENIX, AZ—NOVMEBER 18, 2022—AQRA Presidents Open Spring Futurity winner Laveen Eagle kept his record a perfect 3-fo3- at Turf Paradise Saturday afternoon by posting the fastest qualifying time for the AQRA Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from two trials contested by accredited Arizona-Bred 2-year-olds, will return to Turf Paradise on Thursday, December 15, to vie for the winner's share of a $45,000-added purse going 350 yards.

Under jockey Kevin Carbajal, Laveen Eagle drew off from the field late while completing the 350 yards in :17.667 seconds, a 97 speed index into a 6 mph headwind, to post the top time. It was the fourth win six starts for the son of world champion One Dashing Eagle. Trainer Alex Torres-Casas saddled the bay colt for owner Ricardo Ramirez.

Bred by Salvador Pimienta, from the Tres Seis mare Senora Cartel, Laveen Eagle won the AQRA Presidents Open Spring Futurity at Turf Paradise then traveled to Ruidoso Downs were he promptly qualified for the Grade 1 $1,000,000 Ruidoso QH Futurity last May. 

Following an off-the-board troubled performance in his last start, a trial for the La Fiesta Futurity, Laveen Eagle returned to Arizona. He has banked $85,762.

The same jockey, trainer and owner combination won the opening trial with Rr Czech This Panama to record the third fastest time of :17.754 seconds, a 95 speed index into 7 mph headwind.

Salvador Pimienta bred the daughter of Panama Wes from the Tres Seis mare Cranberry Czech. Third in the Arizona Futurity in her last start, September 3, and second in the Desert Classic Futurity last April, Rr Czech This Panama has earned $37,238.
