First Corona Magic, Jackies Famous Girl Score In Divisions of Oneida County Futurity

MALAD CITY, ID–AUGUST 14, 2022–After weather conditions forced the Oneida County Fair to cancel trials for its annual futurity earlier this month, track officials made the decision to run two $16,000 divisions today.

Oneida Quarter Horse Futurity-Division 1

First Corona Magic was a wire-to-wire winner in the $16,000 Oneida Quarter Horse Futurity-Division 1 on Sunday under jockey Todd Thomas.

The daughter of Mountain Magic cruised to a neck win over Rlh Fouronthefloor while stopping the timer in :15.651 seconds, an 89 speed index for 300 yards into a 5 mph crosswind. Trainer Glen Jamison. Saddled the Idaho homebred for owner-breeder Juan Hernandez.

Out of the Coronas Prospect mare Dds Corona Prospect, First Corona Magic picked up $6,400 to boost her bankroll to $8,463.  She was also a finalist in the Roche Equine Veterinary Services Futurity in June.

Runner-up Rlh Fouronthefloor, by Jess Got Easier, races for owner-breeder Robert Harrison and trainer Heath Hillman. Jesus Virgin had the riding call on the gelding out of Sp Saint Patty by Saint Shackleton. He earned $4,000 to bring his earnings to $12,250 from four starts.

Smokin Lil Wagon finished three-quarters back to earn $1,600 for third.  Also trained by Jamison the Lil Kool Wagon filly is owned by the trainer and Jill Jamison. John McBride bred the bay filly from the Jumpn mare Smokn Mirrors.  Jesus Flores was up.

Bp Hes The Moon, Kiss A Lou Blue, Mz Six, Cuyiosityd and Hawks Interest completed the field.

Oneida Quarter Horse Futurity-Division 2

Jackies Famous Girl flew from the gate under jockey Oscar Villa to win the 16,000 Oneida Quarter Horse Futurity-Division 2 by a neck on Sunday.  Cassy Caring finished second, 1-3/4 lengths ahead of third-place finisher Nitro Got Me Zoomin.

Trainer Ramiro Fregoso saddled the daughter of leading sire One Famous Eagle to her second win six starts for owner Dorian Montero. The sorrel filly completed the 300 yards in :15,363 seconds, a 99 speed index into a 4 mph crosswind.

Dorian Montero owns the Texas-bred filly out of This Dash Is Flying by Fishers Dash. Bred by Christine Hudson, the $6,400 winner's purse boosted Jackies Famous Girl's earnings to $11,566. She was also third in the Roche Equine Veterinary Services Futurity in June.

Cassy Caring picked up $4,000 for second. Scott Warr saddled the daughter of Racy Casanova for owner-breeder Movin On. Francisco Linan had the riding call aboard the Wyoming Bred filly's first start. Cassy Caring is out of the Favorite Cartel mare R Favorite Lady.

Third-place finisher Nitro Got Me Zoomin earned $1,600 for owner-breeder Merlin Sharp. Fredy Olmos trains the Zoomin Royal colt out of Gone Babie Gone by Jess Zoomin. Daniel Carrillo was riding.

Rlh Chocolate Chip, Cr Royalty Foose, My Caliente Corona, Streakin We and Big E completed the field.
