Aj Run For Cash Fastest In Grants Pass' Firecracker Futurity Trials on Sunday

GRANTS PASS, OR–JUNE 19, 2022–Shipping in off a maiden win on May 14th in California, Aj Run For Cash dominated five trials for the Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass Downs on Sunday.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Oregon racetrack on Monday, July 4th to vie for the winners' share of a $90,000-est. purse going 350 yards.

Under jockey Jose Guerrero, Aj Run For Cash raced to a 2-3/4 length win in the opening trials to establish the fastest mark of :17.433 seconds, a 97 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind.  

Trainer Emilio Guerrero conditions the $63,000 Los Alamitos Equine Mixed Sale graduate for owner Boardshorts Stables, LLC. Bred in California by Rancho El Cabestro, Inc., the daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess has won two of four career starts and banked $6,555 this season.

Aj Run For Cash is out of the Takin On The Cash mare Shyann Cash.

Guerrero and Boardshorts Stables, LLC teamed again in the third trial with Ima Sixy Man to get the second fastest time of :17.612 seconds, a 91 speed index. Also ridden by Jose Guerrero, the son of Corona Cartel won his trial by 1-1/2 lengths. He is an $82,000 Los Alamitos Equine Mixed Sale graduate.

Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC bred Ima Sixy Man in Oklahoma from the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess So Sixy. Ima Sixy Man broke his maiden in a trial for the Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity(G2) at Los Alamitos Race Course on May 24th. He has earned $6,245 in three starts.

Trainer Hector Magallanes qualified four head and trainer Fred Ibarra and Edwin Rosales got two each.
