GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – NOVEMBER 21, 2020 - Trump My Record broke alertly and made quick work of the field in the $100,000 B.F. Phillips, Jr Stakes, the feature race on the Saturday night card at Lone Star. The talented 3-year-old defeated Carry the Memories and the 2019 winner of the race, Serendipity Rocks, in the 2-length victory.

Trump My Record ($2.60) led at every call under jockey Eddie Sanchez and extended his lifetime record to 13 wins in 16 starts with $979,068 earned to date. Jose Sanchez III trains for owner Gilbert Pacheco.

The 400-yard event was restricted to Texas-bred 3-year-olds and up. The final time was 19.483, giving the winner a 103 speed index.

Trump My Record was bred by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches Lp, by Apollitical Blood and out of Breck N Records, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon.

This was the gelding’s fifth career stakes win. He made headlines as a 2-year-old when he won the Harrah’s Futurity (G3) and the Sam Houston Futurity (G2) as part of a five-win race streak. He suffered his first career loss in the TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2), but returned to finish second in the Dash for Cash Futurity (G2) before winning the Texas Classic Futurity (G1) and the Firecracker Derby (G3).

Carry the Memories and Ricardo Garza-Cruz led the rest of the pack to earn second place for trainer Rolando Almanza. Almanza also co-owns the 4-year-old gelding with Cesar Rosales and breeder Scarlett Hill Farm, Inc.

The Texas-bred is a son of Dash Master Jess and is out of Processing Speed, by Duel Fuel. He was second in the Retama Park Derby in 2019; this year, he competed in the TQHA Classic Stakes (RG2) and the King William Stakes.

The defending champion of the race, Serendipity Rocks, made up ground to finish third. The 5-year-old son of Rock Solid Jess was ridden by Francisco Ramirez, Jr. for trainer Esteban Rubio. Sarah Huskey bred the gelding in Texas, out of Precious Serendipity, by Behold a Beduino.

Serendipity Rocks won the Sam Houston Derby (G3) in 2018 and qualified to the Texas Classic Derby (G1) and the TQHA Classic (RG2) twice, including a runner-up finish in the race this year. He also finished third in the Bank of America Retama Park Championship Challenge and won an allowance at Lone Star prior to Saturday night’s stake.

Completing the field were Easy Blinkers, Clever Seis Cartel, Katch This Bird and This Guys a Volcom. Jordan Eagle and Kiss My Whuut were scratched.
