Louisiana Dressblues Wins The $30,000 Races And Aces Stakes at Evangeline Downs

OPELOUSAS, LA—NOVEMBER 18, 2020—Evangeline Downs hosted the $30,000 Races and Aces Stakes on Wednesday night and the winner was Louisiana Dressblues, who covered the 870 yard distance in a final time of :46.429 seconds. That time equaled a speed index of 90 over the fast track.

Stablemate and 14-1 longshot, Masons Jet Black, made Louisiana Dressblues work hard for this victory, though. He broke sharply from the rail and led all the way to the end, when Louisiana Dressblues was just able to get to the wire first to win by a head. Freakin Patriot Dash put forth a sustained rally on the rail to finish third.

Louisiana Dressblues had earlier won the $25,000 Virgil Bond Stakes and the $50,000 Live Oak Stakes at Delta Downs this year. The win on Wednesday night was his eighth career win from 19 starts. The $18,000 first-place purse increases his lifetime earnings to $189,710.

The 5-year-old gelding was bred in Louisiana by Easy Acres Performance Horses. He is owned by Wilson One Consulting, LLC, trained by Trey Ellis and was ridden to victory by Juan Garcia, Jr. Louisiana Dressblues is by Jess Louisiana Blue and is out of the Meadowlake mare(TB), Charolmaine (TB).
