Heritage Place Fall Mixed Second Day Finishes Strong

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—OCTOBER 30, 2015—Heritage Place closed their 2015 Fall Mixed Sale today with the final session showing a slight increase in the average compared to the same session last year.

For the two days of completed sales, not included the Vessels Dispersal, the average was down five-percent (5%) over the sale average from last year. Final numbers had 433 of the 550 head offered gross $4,860,800 for an $11,226 average and $6,200 median.

"We sold 89% of the horses offered at the sale, which again is very similar to last year," Heritage Place General Manger Spence Kidney said last Friday. "I believe we had a good sale this weekend and based on the interest we have for the Winter Mixed Sale, I think we can all look forward to a great set of horses in January."

A pair of $50,000 purchases was the high-sellers in the final session.

Cindy Dick paid $50,000 for Famous Candy Cat, a stakes-placed daughter of Red Storm Cat from the Chicks Beduino mare Chicks Famous Candy. Consigned by Gary T. Hess, Famous Candy Cat is from the family of 2015 All American Futurity(G1) winner Jess Good Candy.

Chad Hart purchased TQHA Sale Futurity(RG2) winner Grey Daze for $50,000 from Granada Farms, Agent. The Captain Courage 3-year-old filly out of Grey Lakes Girl, by Royal Shake Em, has earned $174,715.

Ramon Vega was the sale's leading buyer with seven purchases for $337,400 including the high seller from the Vessels Stallion Farm, LLC Dispersal on Thursday, Your First Moon for $205,000 (see related story). Valeriano Racing Stables LLC had three purchases for $194,000 and Cindy Dick had seven head for $191,500.

Bob Moore Farms, LLC, Agent for Vessels Stallion Farm, LLC Dispersal was the leading consignor or agent with 23 head grossing $1,145,200. Lazy E Ranch, LLC Agent had 29 head for $463,400 and Bobby D. Cox sold 21 head for a $245,400 gross.

One Famous Eagle was the leading yearling sale sire (by average with two or more sold) with six head averaging $24,333. Mr Jess Perry sold three yearlings for a $22,333 average and Tres Seis had two yearlings for $14,250.

Mr Jess Perry was the sale's leading covering sire (by average with two or more sold) with two in-foal mares averaging a $95,500. First Down Dash had three in-foal mares for a $54,333 average and Apollitical Jess had two in-foal mares bring $23,750. Coronado Cartel led first year sale-crop sires with three in-foal mares for a $17,400 average.
