Heritage Place 37th Annual Fall Mixed Sale Set to Open Thursday

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—OCTOBER 27, 2015—Heritage Place will kick off their 37th annual Fall Mixed Sale at the Heritage Place Sales Pavilion in Oklahoma City on Thursday. Five hundred and fifty-five head of broodmares, stallions, yearlings and horses of racing age have been cataloged for the two-day event, October 29-30. This year's sale has been moved up to Thursday-Friday to accommodate racing at Will Rogers Downs on Saturday.

Sale Festivities get underway Wednesday (Oct. 28) at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) with the annual pre-sale party and a special "Night With The Legends of American Quarter Horse Racing" hosted by TRACK Magazine and Heritage Place (see related story) at 6:00 p.m. (CDT).

“With a good catalog and the 'The Night of the Legends', it appears that this is going to be a great week,” Heritage Place’s General Manager Spence Kidney said.

The sale will begin promptly Thursday morning at 10:00 am with a Day 1 Yearling Session of hips 1 thru 113. Day 1's second session, hips 114 thru 136 will be the Vessels Stallion Farm dispersal.

The Vessels dispersal consists of 23 head, including Your First Moon (Hip No. 114), the sport's champion 2-year-old in 2001 and the dam of last year's champion 3-year-old Moonist; Secret Separation (Hip No. 118), a half sister to All American Futurity (G1) winner No Secrets Here and the dam of champion Hez Our Secret; Dicey Secret (Hip No. 124), a Grade 1-winning 23-year-old daughter of Raise A Secret and the dam of Secret Separation and No Secrets Here; and Our Last Choice (Hip No. 127), a 7-year-old mare by First Down Dash and a full sister to five stakes winners, including champions First Sovereign and Royal Quick Dash.

Located at Bonsall, California since the mid-1980s, Vessels Stallion Farm was sold earlier this year by the family of the late Frank "Scoop" Vessels III, who died in a private plane crash five years ago. The farm was purchased by a private entity incorporated in Delaware, which will rename the farm Ocean Breeze Ranch.

The final session on Day 1 will be mixed Hips 137 thru 278.

A reception hosted by the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association will be held at the Heritage Place Restaurant and Club immediately following the first night of the sale.

Friday's session (four) will also get underway promptly at 10 a.m. offering a final Mixed Session of hips 279 through 555.

The sale will be webcast again this year and those people not in attendance can watch the sale by logging on to www.heritageplace.com.
