GRAND PRAIRIE, TX-–NOVEMBER15, 2022–Five stakes, headed by Texas' richest horse race, headline Saturday's 11-race program at Lone Star Park. Post time for the first race is set for 6:05 p.m. (CST).

Ten 2-year-olds are entered back in Saturday's 400-yard, $1,209,172 Texas Classic Futurity (G1). Rock A Jess V, a son of world champion Apollitical Jess and the fastest qualifier from 18 trials run October 27-28, has won his last two races, including the 440-yard, $200,000 All American Juvenile Invitational Stakes at Ruidoso Downs on September 5. Santos Carrizales Jr. trains the homebred gelding for owner Valeriano Racing Stables LLC.

Rock A Jess V drew post 3 and will be ridden by Juan Pulido. The gelding's nine opponents include One Perfect Lady, a homebred daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Bogart trained by Rolando Almanza for owner La Feliz Montana Ranch LLC. One Perfect Lady has won two of her three starts at the current Lone Star Park meet, including the 400-yard, $426,000 Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) on October 26.

One Perfect Lady drew post 2 and will be ridden by Noe Garcia Jr.

Also on Saturday, multiple Grade 1 winner and fastest qualifier KJ Desparado heads a field of 10 sophomores entered back in the 440-yard, $412,568 Texas Classic Derby (G1).

Trained by Wes Giles for owners John Lee, Kathy Lee, and Ruben Mares, KJ Desparado has won 11 of 16 races and has earned $2,522,510, and his five wins in six starts at the classic 440-yard distance include last year's $3-million All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs. The gelded son of Apollitical Jess has also won all three of his outs at Lone Star Park, including last year's Texas Classic Futurity (G1).

KJ Desparado drew post 5 and will be ridden by Adrian Ramos. Giles will also send out second-fastest qualifier The Big Favorite, a gelded son of Favorite Cartel racing for Melvin Neugebauer and Susan Neugebauer and a $40,000 yearling purchase at last year's Los Alamitos Equine Sale in California. The Big Favorite brings in a three-race win streak that includes a neck victory as the 7-5 favorite in the 400-yard, $176,000 La Fiesta Derby at Albuquerque Downs on September 25.

The Big Favorite drew the rail post and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Three other stakes will be contested on Saturday. The 400-yard, $50,000 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes has drawn a field of 10, headed by early favorite Tres Crystals A gelded son of champion Tres Seis trained by Dee Keener for owner Elizabeth Logan, Tres Crystals has banked $660,167 from six outs, and his five wins include the 300-yard, $441,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) in March, and Oklahoma's richest horse race, the May 28, $1.112-million Heritage Place Futurity (G1).

Tres Crystals was a $30,000 buy at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The gelding drew post 8 and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa.

Saturday's 400-yard, $50,000 B.F. Phillips Jr. Stakes (RG3) has attracted a field of nine Texas-bred runners, headed by Pete Scarmardo's His Time To Deal.

A homebred son of Dealagame trained by Jose Guadalupe Cruz, His Time To Deal will be shortening in distance off of his fourth-place finish, 3 1/4 lengths behind winner and reigning world champion Danjer, in the 400-yard, $270,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Horseshoe Indianapolis on October 22. The sorrel gelding opened his 2022 Lone Star campaign with a half-length victory in the 350-yard, $59,000 Lip-Chip LLC Stakes (R) for state-breds on September 24.

His Time To Deal drew post 5 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon.

Saturday's 400-yard, $50,000 Yellow Rose of Texas Stakes (R) has drawn a field of six state-bred distaffers, headed by early favorite SS Classyjess.

A 6-year-old gray daughter of Rock Solid Jess trained by Jose Carrizales for owner Edgar Rosales, SS Classyjess has earned $70,868 from eight races this season, and her five wins include a half-length victory in the July 29, 400-yard Miss Retama Stakes (R) for Texas-bred fillies and mares at Retama Park.

SS Classyjess drew post 5 and will be ridden by Luis Vivanco.
