Hadley/Giles Futurity finalist Cowboyhatbygucci is entered in Sunday’s 300-yard Rising C Equine Futurity trials at Energy Downs.

GILLETTE, WY—JUNE 5, 2021—Eighteen 2-year-olds are entered in Sunday’s 300-yard Rising C Equine Futurity trials at Energy Downs.

Cowboyhatbygucci, a gelded son of Apollitical Blood owned and trained by Uriel Dominguez Sr., drew post 2 and will be ridden by Uriel Dominguez in the third of three trials. A $15,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, Cowboyhatbygucci is coming off of a fifth-place finish in the 300-yard, $108,000 Hadley/Giles Futurity at Weber Downs in Ogden, Utah, on May 1.

Cowboyhatbygucci’s five opponents in the third heat include BDS Performance Horses’ Free Roller, a Docs Best Card filly trained by Skyler Greene and a $5,500 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Free Roller placed sixth in the Hadley/Giles Futurity.

Free Roller drew post 6 and will be ridden by Jesus Virgen.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the June 26, $15,000-added Rising C Equine Futurity final.
