ALTOONA, IA–AUGUST 18, 2022–Six aged runners, headed by Cavenaugh Quarter Horses' Apollitical Redflash, are entered in Saturday's 440-yard, $45,000-added Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge (G2).

A 4-year-old son of 2011 world champion Apollitical Jess, Apollitical Redflash will be making his first official start since April 30, when the sorrel gelding ran third, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Jess My Hocks, in the 400-yard, $100,000 Leo Stakes (G1) at Remington Park. A $100,000 purchase at the 2019 Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Apollitical Redflash has earned $188,629 from 15 races.

Apollitical Redflash drew the rail post and will be ridden by Tanner Thedford for trainer Clint Crawford.

The winner of this race will earn a berth in the October 22, $250,000 Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1) at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:

Also on Saturday, Tom Maher's Apollitical Mogul heads a field of nine fillies and mares in the 400-yard, $25,000 Q-Racing Video Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge (G3).

Apollitical Mogul is coming off of a second-place finish, a neck behind winner and stablemate Lynnder 16, in the July 14, 39,000 Q-Racing Video Canterbury Distaff Challenge at Canterbury Park. However, the 6-year-old daughter of Apollitical Jess has won five of 10 races at Prairie Meadows, including last year's Q-Racing Video Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge.

Apollitical Mogul drew post 9 and will be ridden by Edwin Escobedo for trainer Jason Olmstead.
