Loco Ocho Returns in Q-Racing Video Grants Pass Distaff Challenge

GRANTS PASS, OR—MAY 22, 2021—Darla Barlow’s Loco Ocho, a homebred daughter of The Louisiana Cartel trained by Garth Blattner, will make her 5-year-old season debut in Tuesday’s 400-yard, $20,000-added Q-Racing Video Grants Pass Distaff Challenge at Grants Pass Downs.

Loco Ocho will be making her first start since October 24, when the Idaho-bred mare ran third, a half of a length behind winner Lynnder 16, in the Grade 1, $102,000 AQHA Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) at The Downs at Albuquerque. All told, Loco Ocho has won eight of 18 outs -- including four of seven at the 400-yard distance -- and she has earned $48,154.

Loco Ocho drew post 8 and will be ridden by Jesus Valenzuela.

The winner of this race will earn a berth in the October 24, 400-yard Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship at The Downs at Albuquerque. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:
