OGDEN, UT—MAY 1, 2021—Proud Movin Renegade is now undefeated as a 3-year-old and picked up his third stakes win in the $41,514 Adequan Weber Downs Derby Challenge.
Proud Movin Renegade won his trial, the first of two on April 18, and was the fastest qualifier. In the final, he set a time of 19.887 in the 400-yard stake and earned a 106 speed index.
Jesus Valenzuela rode Proud Movin Renegade to a half-length victory over Fortunes Wild Blood. The Maknmoves gelding is trained by Riley Moosman for owners and breeders XG Bar Racing LLC. He was bred in Idaho out of Proud Moon Bug, by Proudest Effort.
Proud Movin Renegade has won six of his 10 career starts and amassed over $83,000 in earnings. The talented gelding won the Bitterroot Futurity (G3) at Pocatello Downs last fall before finishing second in the Los Alamitos Wild West Futurity (G3) in October.

Fortunes Wild Blood and Nakia Ramirez pressured the leader and held on for second place. The Apollitical Blood gelding is trained by Jay Pitcher for owners Kelly and Kyle Cook. He was bred in Louisiana by Riley Blanchet, out of the Carters Cartel mare Cartels Fortune.
Fortunes Wild Blood won the Crush the Curve Futurity at Pocatello last summer and qualified to the Bitterroot Futurity. He made his first appearance in a Challenge race In September as the third-place finisher in the John Deere Pocatello Downs Juvenile Challenge.
Second fastest qualifier Echo of Thunder, who finished in second place behind Proud Movin Renegade in their trial, placed third in the final. Jesus Canales had the call for trainer and owner Lazaro Mendoza.
Echo of Thunder was bred by Birrell Farms in Utah, by Turbulent Times and out of BF Memory Lane, by Maknmoves. As a 2-year-old, Echo of Thunder won the Beehive Futurity at Laurel Brown. He is three for six lifetime with $47,614 earned.
Completing the field were Sb Holly Wood, Cady Shack Creek, Fighting Mad, Skyywalker, Jr Hiway 93 and Coronas Walk. Jr Prissys Kiss was scratched.
