OGDEN, UT—APRIL 17, 2021—Eleven 3-year-olds, headed by XG Bar Racing LLC’s Proud Movin Renegade, are entered in Sunday’s 400-yard Adequan Weber Downs Derby Challenge trials.
A homebred son of Maknmoves trained by Riley Moosman, Proud Movin Renegade returns to the Intermountain region from Los Alamitos, where he ran second, 1 1/2 lengths behind CM Dillingham Advice, in last year’s 350-yard, $99,000 Wild West Futurity.
The gelding has earned $63,157 from eight outs, and his four wins include a one-length victory in last year’s 350-yard, $96,000 Bitterroot Futurity (R) at Pocatello Downs.
Proud Movin Renegade drew post 6 and will be ridden by Jesus Valenzuela in the first of two trials.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 1, $30,000-added Adequan Weber Downs Derby Challenge final.
