POCATELLO, ID—MAY 15, 2016—Kd Morrison held off Kiss Kate Barlow by a neck to break his maiden Sunday in the $9,300 AQHA Maiden Challenge (not black type) at Pocatello Downs.
Ridden by jockey Nakia Ramirez, Kd Morrison completed the 350 yards in :17.769 seconds, a 97-speed index over the fast racing surface. It was the first win three career starts for the 4-year-old son of Jess Got Easier. The $4,463 winner's purse boosted his earnings to $5,152.
Mark Hanson conditions the gelding for owner Shauna Dunn. Bred in Idaho by Kris and Dennie Hill, from the Walk Thru Fire mare Lite My Fire, Kd Morrison was second in both his other two starts.
Still a maiden after four starts, Kissin Kate Barlow races for owners Dawna and Delra Talbot. Tony Hyde trains the Tr Dasher filly out of Apollos Winner by Apollo (TB). Ridden by Raymundo Torres, the chestnut filly picked up $1.907 or her effort. She has placed in three of four career starts to 3.
Tic Tac Attack finished half-a-length back in the show position for owner BDS Performance Horses and trainer Skyler Greene. Mark Adair and Mark Adair II bred the 3-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Tac It Like a Man in Texas from the Separatist mare Harney Girl. Ridden by Jesus Virgin the brown filly earned $930.
Completing the official order of finish were Nurse Hawkinson, Winnie Vee, Rf Ragstoriches,Volcoms Seperator and Katie On The Move.
