Already a graded stakes winner at Remington Park this year, Ajs High will start in Saturday’s 440-yard Bank of America Oklahoma Challenge (G2) trials at the Oklahoma City racetrack.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 27, 2016—AJs High, a graded stakes winning 4-year-old Apollitical Jess gelding, will make his next start in Saturday’s 440-yard Bank of America Oklahoma Challenge (G2) trials at Remington Park.

AJs High is one of 16 aged runners entered in the trials, from which the 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $100,000-added final on May 22. Trained by Charley Hunt for owner Michael C. Teel, the gelding has won two stakes during the current Remington spring meet, including the 350-yard, $50,000 Eastex Stakes (G2) on March 13.

Stormy Smith will ride AJs High from post 6 in the second of two trials.

Exquisite Stride, a 4-year-old stallion by champion Carters Cartel trained by Michael Taylor for owners David and Sherry Dunn, will be ridden by Jimmy Dean Brooks from post 8 in the first heat. A finalist in the 2014 All American Futurity (G1), Exquisite Stride has earned $189,147 from eight starts, and his four wins include a neck victory in last year’s 400-yard, $145,000 Evangeline Downs Derby.

Zoetis Oklahoma Distance Challenge Trials

JK Running Horses LLC’s Mixed Fantasy is one of a dozen distance specialists entered in Saturday’s 870-yard Zoetis Oklahoma Distance Challenge (G3) trials.

A 6-year-old gray Okey Dokey Fantasy gelding trained by Kenny Laymon, Mixed Fantasy is coming off of a wire-to-wire, three-quarter length win in the 870-yard, $50,000 Pauls Valley Stakes (G3) on April 7. Mixed Fantasy drew post 4 and will be ridden by Daniel Torres in the second of two trials.

CR Tuckernuck, a 5-year-old son of Jet Black Patriot trained by Stacey Capps for owner Kharlottie Grace Urschel, drew post 2 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez in the first trial. The third-place finisher in the Pauls Valley, the gelding ended his 2015 season with a three-race win streak that included the 870-yard, $125,000 Zoetis Distance Challenge Championship (G1) at Lone Star Park.

The eight fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 22, $50,000-added Zoetis Oklahoma Distance Challenge final.

Merial Oklahoma Distaff Challenge Trials

Michael A. Pohl’s Send Me This Wagon is the morning-line favorite in the first of two 400-yard Merial Oklahoma Distaff Challenge (G3) trials on Saturday.

A homebred 5-year-old daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon trained by Stacy Charette-Hill, Send Me This Wagon will be making her season debut. The mare banked $66,569 from five outs last year, and her resume included a second-place finish to Sudden Separation in the $125,000 Merial Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) at Lone Star Park.

Send Me This Wagon will be ridden by Jorge Torres from post 4 in the first of two trials.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will face off in the $40,000-added final on May 22.
