HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 21, 2016—Thirteen 3-year-olds, including stakes winner Ima Dashing Gator, have been entered in Saturday’s Adequan Texas Derby Challenge trials at Sam Houston Race Park.
A chestnut daughter of champion Tempting Dash, Ima Dashing Gator is trained by Amanda Buchanan-Hadley for owner Iris Buchanan. The filly ended her 2-year-old campaign with a one-length victory at odds of 10-1 in the 350-yard, $25,000 Markel Stakes at Lone Star Park on November 6.
Ima Dashing Gator will be ridden by Russel Hadley from post 5 in the second of two trials.
The 10 fastest qualifiers from Saturday’s 400-yard trials will meet in the $35,000-added Adequan Texas Derby Challenge final on May 14.
