PORTLAND, OR—FEBRUARY 9, 2016—Multiple stakes winner Wrap You Up broke on top and extended her lead to half-a-length at the wire Monday in the $24,500 Portland Meadows Championship Bonus Challenge at Portland Meadows.
Ridden by jockey Jake Samuels, the Walk Thru Fire filly covered the 440 yards in :21.873 seconds to earn a 104-speed index. Trainer Hector Magallanes saddled the 4-year-old to her 6th win in 13 starts for owners Cedar Creek Tree Farm Ranch and Racing.
Bred in California by Steve Burns, DVM, Wrap You Up used the $12,250 Bonus winners' purse to boost her career earnings to $61,633. She is out of the Strawfly Special mare Babe On The Fly.
Multiple stakes-placed Lebron 6 broke well and ran evenly under jockey Ruben Camacho, finishing second for owner-trainer Juan Sanguino. Michael and Shannon McKay bred the son of Jess Zoomin in Oregon from the Meter Me Gone mare Jn Sonoma Rose. He earned $6,125 for the effort.
Also an Oregon-bred, Sneakin Tr finished a nose back in third for owner/breeder Gary Chumbley. Scott Raley conditions the Tr Dasher 5-year-old out of Sneak Bac, by Splash Bac. The multiple stakes-placed runner picked up $3,063.
Completing the field were Cm Got Overserved, Thinkin Of Girls, My Best Bunny Yet, Chicks R Gone and Lil Touch Of Dixie.
