EDMONTON, ALB—OCTOBER 7, 2015—Multiple stakes winner Im Hott Ur Nott outlasted Tiny Flying Corona by a neck in the $18,572(US) Northlands Markel Bonus Challenge on Wednesday at Northlands Park. Pow Wow Lane finished 1˝ lengths back in third place.
Ridden by jockey Trevor Simpson Im Hott Ur Not veered out while completing the 330 yards in :16.556 seconds, a 111-speed index with no wind. The $9,843(US) winner's purse swells his bankroll to $72,578.
Trainer Laurie Ferguson saddled the Markel Bonus winner for owner Ralph Danard. Dean Frey bred the Tres Seis 5-year-old in California from the First Down Dash mare Wild California Rose. The mare's record stands at (22) 12-4-2.
Also a multiple stakes winner, Tiny Flying Corona races for owner Charles Stojan and trainer William Leech. Also bred in California the 5-year-old son of Tinys First Corona is out of the Chicks Beduino mare Pj Phoebes Flying. Ridden by Ricardo Moreno, Tiny Flying Corona earned $4,829(US).
Donalda Cochrane conditions Herds Racing's Pow Wow Lane. Neil Husbands rode the Invisible Injun 10-year-old to his third place finish to earn $2,229(US). Earl Brown bred the chestnut gelding in Alberta from the Lanes Leinster mare Cash In This Lane.
