GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALB—AUGUST 23, 2015—For Sweet Jess got up at the wire to defeat Er Cafe by a neck in the $31,498(US) John Deere Evergreen Juvenile Challenge on Sunday. Forest Got Skunked finished a nose off the leaders to get third in the blanket finish.

Under jockey Ramiro Castillo For Sweet Jess covered the 350 yards in :18.046 seconds, with a 20 mph crosswind, to earn a 92-speed index. It was the fourth win in seven starts for the gelding by first crop sire One Sweet Jess.

He used the $15,119(US) winner's purse to boost her lifetime earnings mark to $23,782. The victory also earns her a starting spot in the $150,000-Guaranteed John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) at Lone Star Park on November 7.

Hector Magallanes conditions the gray for owner Ruben Magallanes. K & R Allred Ranch, LLC bred For Sweet Jess in Arizona from the Chicks Beduino mare For Some Cash.

Er Cafe held place under jockey Tyler Walker to earn $6,457(US) for owner/breeder/trainer Donalda M. Cochrane. Cochrane bred the Tres Seis colt in Alberta from the Hawkinson mare Hawks Halo. The bay has placed in three of four starts this year.

Berkley Packer rode Forest Got Skunked to his third place finish for owner/breeder/trainer Dean Frey. The son of multiple stakes sire Tac It Like a Man is out of Separate Secrets, by Separatist. He earned $3,150(US) for the effort.

Fastest qualifier Tickle Ur Fancy stumbled at the start and had to settle for fourth, followed by Living Is Sweet, Hrh Tres Royale and Enjoy The Corona. Crazy Keeper was scratched.
