HOUSTON, TX—MAY 12, 2015—Michael Amburn’s Freakin Runaway, a graded stakes placed son of champion Ocean Runaway trained by Mike Robbins, has been entered back in Saturday’s 400-yard, $55,170 Adequan Texas Derby Challenge at Sam Houston Race Park.
Freakin Runaway is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign in which he won three of six outs and earned $42,165. The gelding’s 2014 season included a third-place finish, 2 1/2 lengths behind winner AJs High, in the 350-yard, $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) at Prairie Meadows.
The fastest qualifier, Freakin Runaway drew post 9 and will be ridden by Luis Ramirez.
The winner of this race will earn a berth in the Adequan Derby Challenge Championship at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, Texas, later this fall. The complete lineup, in post-position order including jockey assignments--
