HOUSTON, TX—APRIL 23, 2015—Making his career debut Thursday night, Tellereyematthebar defeated Sensual Queen by a neck to set the fastest qualifying time to the Grade 3 John Deere Texas Juvenille Challenge at Sam Houston Race Park.

The 10 fastest "AQHA Racing Challenge Enrolled" two-year-olds, from the 72 head that completed in 10 trial races, will return to the Houston racing oval on Saturday, May 16 to vie for the winner's share of a $35,000-added purse over 350 yards. Also at stake is starting spot in the $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) to be held November 7th during the Bank of America Challenge Championship Night at Lone Star Park.

Ridden by jockey Damian Martinez, Tellereyematthebar dueled Sensual Queen to the wire to get the top qualifying time of :17.904 seconds for the 350 yards. Brian Stroud conditions the Teller Cartel gelding for owner/breeders James Hrabovsky and Leann Nails. The first time starter is a Texas bred from the First To Shine mare Eye Shine Special.

"I thought he would run well," said Stroud. "We worked him against a nice 4-year-old last week and he outworked him. In his trial, he kind of stumbled out of the gate, but Damian did a good job picking his head up," Stroud said.

Also making her first start, Sensual Queen held on to the second fastest time of :17.962 seconds for owners Twin Spires Farm and Jerry Windham. A $40,000 Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Sale graduate, Sensual Queen is by Woodbridge from the G3 placed Invisible Injun mare Quintessential Queen. Leon Bard trains with Francisco Calderon getting the riding call. MJ Farms is the breeder.

Undivided Atemption was an impressive 1-¾ length winner in the fourth trial under jockey Manuel Gutierrez. Rolando Almanza saddled the Tempting Dash gelding for owner Quency Grant to the third fastest time of :17.992. Also a first time starter, Undivided Atemption was bred in South Carolina from the Streakin To Early mare Efforts Easy Dash. Zule Farms, LLC is the breeder.
