Final Night of Lone Star Park QH Racing Features Grade 1, $1,031,211 Texas Classic Futurity

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 27, 2020—After you've put away the leftover turkey from Thanksgiving, you'll want to make plans for this Saturday because it's the final and most exciting night of the 2020 Fall Meeting of Champions.

Headlining the 12-race card is the Grade 1, $1,031,211 Texas Classic Futurity. Find out if your favorite 2-yr-old will take home the largest purse Texas racing has to offer. Also featured will be the Grade 1, $393,210 Texas Classic Derby; the $54,890 Lone Star 870 Battle of the Breeds; The $25,000 added Paragon Oaks and the $54,274 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and all of this lucrative racing action begins at 6:05 p.m.

Lone Star Park is excited to have popular regional racing publicist, Martha Claussen on hand. She will interview top figures in the sport including 2019 AQHA Champion Jockey James Flores, 2019 Texas Classic Futurity winning trainer, Jose Sanchez, III (Trump My Record) and top owner/breeder Pete Scarmardo who has two home-breds in this year's futurity.

Claussen will also share insight on the featured races with Lone Star's Paddock Host Rodney Nelson and interview winning connections of the night's big races.

We will crown Champion trainer, jockey and owner of the 2020 Fall Meeting of Champions and have named races shedding light on two very important organizations, the Shantel Lanerie Breast Cancer Foundation and the Racetrack Chaplaincy of Texas.

Plan to arrive early so you won't miss a single minute of this action-packed final night of the season.

  • Race 5 - Champion trainer, Alonso Neri, his first ever title here - post time 8:03 p.m.
  • Race 6 - Champion jockey of the meet, Luis Vivanco gets his 2nd title. He won previously in 2014 - post time 8:31 p.m.
  • Race 7 - Champion owner Sarah Husky - post time 8:59 p.m.
  • Race 8 - Lone Star 870 Battle of the Breeds - post time 9:27 p.m.
  • Race 9 - Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes - post time 9:55 p.m.
  • Race 10 - Texas Classic Derby - post time 10:23 p.m.
  • Race 11 - Texas Classic Futurity - post time 10:51 p.m.
  • Race 12 - Paragon Oaks - post time 11:19 p.m.
