OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—SEPTEMBER 19, 2017—Festivities for the 39th annual Heritage Place Yearling Sale will get underway Wednesday with a Pre-Sale Party in Oklahoma City from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome.

At 6:00 pm a "Pony Hop Race for Charity" will be held in the makeup ring in the barn area. Five trial races featuring 25 jockeys will be conducted with each trial winner advancing to the final.

Wagering on each trial and the finals will be done by purchasing tickets for $5 each and dropping them in the bucket of the Jockey that you think will win. One ticket will be drawn from the winning Jockey’s bucket. The winning ticket will pay $200 for each trial and $500 for the finals.

All prizes and money that will be paid out have been donated. Money raised by purchasing tickets will be donated to the Permanently Disabled Jockey Fund (PDJF) and the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Disaster Relief Fund.

39th Annual Yearling Sale Kicks Off Thursday

The annual yearling sale, featuring 811 American Quarter Horses this year, will get underway Thursday and continue through Saturday (Sep. 21-23).

The first session begins promptly at 10:00 am Thursday morning with hips 1 through 271. Friday's session features hips 272 through 541 and Saturday's session concludes with hips 542 through 811. The auction also starts promptly at 10:00 am on Friday and Saturday.

Immediately following the Friday's session the OQHRA will host a reception at the Restaurant and Club.
