Q-RACING JOURNAL—MAY 25, 2016—Away since his February 14 score in the Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1), Moonist's smashing return on May 20 in an allowance race reaffirmed his top spot in the latest AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Poll of the 3-year-olds-and-older division.

The poll’s top vote-getter with 104 of 110 possible points, Moonist advanced to 3-for-3 on the season and maintains a 10-point edge in the balloting over Leo Stakes (G1) winner Zoomin Effortlessly. Moonist has been top-ranked in every poll released this season, dating back to early March. There were no major changes to the rankings this week in the elder division, but note No.8 Jess Good Candy is slated to run Sunday in a trial for the Ruidoso Derby (G1).

The 2-year-old poll also remained unchanged this week, as Teller Baja continues a rock-solid 102-88 lead over No. 2-rated Just Call Me Carter. The complexion of the juvenile picture should come into more focus this weekend as trials for the $1 million-estimated Ruidoso Futurity (G1) take place Friday and Saturday. Just Call Me Carter headlines the Friday set of trials and could make a case for the top spot.
